Activities: Camping, rock-pool lounging and swimming, picnics, kloofing and more.
Facilities: Campsite has ablution block with hot showers, and flushing toilets.

Pricing will be available from end of September 2022: Following are projected pricing: From R1950per person (permits, snacks and meals included) for 2 nights and 3 days (weekdays or weekends). Min 4 – 8 persons – although trips for 2 persons only can be arranged…if you ask nicely!

Where: Haarwegskloof and Moutonshoek (Now a protected area) about 185km from Cape Town.
Scoop a spoonful of adventure on this farm situated in Moutonshoek only 60km from Piketberg as the road leads to the West Coast. Drive past old oak and wild olive trees, through dips and streams, to your kloofing destination while engaging mountains engulf your every gaze. Soon your feet will be swaying to the rhythm of squeaky frogs in the rock pools with happy birds above and around Haarwegskloof.
Day1:
08:30/9am: Meet at the Super Spar parking lot in the town of Piketberg. Last minute shopping can be done.
11am Arrival at the farm; quick meet and greet and orientation over a beverage and snack. Rest of the morning belongs to you as you explore various rock pools or take a slow hike about. After lunch there will be abseiling and rope-work lessons, safety on steep, and a general kloofing briefing. Dinner will be cooked on a fire ten meters from where you will listening to the stream meandering over and around stones and pebbles with a drink while the mineral-rich water refreshed body and soul.
Day2:
Early morning breakfast followed by a kloofing expedition up Haarwegskloof to the waterfall pool where you can lounge, rock jump or simply lap up the sun whilst enjoying a lunch picnic. The waterfall abseil is optional. Back at camp, a late lunch will be had to recharge Upon your return, lanterns will be hanging around the campsite with a dinner slowly purring on the coals. A good night’s rest will be yours.
Please note: Pebble Sky supplies your kloofing and safety gear: wetsuit, harness, helmet, and abseil device. A pack-list will be emailed to clients regarding the trip once booking have been made. During the height of summer, wetsuits are not needed.
Day3:
After a slow wake-up, coffee and a rusk or two, a refreshing swim will be in order before breakfast. Departure will be between 11am and 12pm.
What’s on the menu?
Breakfast:
- Healthy (muesli yoghurt and fruit) or cereal or fry-up (eggs, sausages/bacon tomato and toast)
- Light hiking/kloofing lunch (Sandwiches/crackers, cheese, trail mix, energy bars, apples, drinks etc)
Lunch:
- Light lunches include chicken/meat/vegetarian wraps with salad. Clients are welcome to throw something together for themselves in the stocked kitchen gazebo.
Dinner:
- Chicken/meat potjie and braai, when available there will be fish.
Dessert on last night:
- Custard, biscuits and fried fruit
