SONGS OF THE FLOW: An Overnight Kloofing or Canyoning Experience! (This package has the option of adding night-time kloofing to your adventure.)
IT IS WITH GREAT PLEASURE THAT WE CAN ANNOUNCE THAT THE LANDOWNERS OF HAARWEGSKLOOF HAVE GIVEN PEBBLE SKY ADVENTURES SOLE KLOOFING OPERATING ACCESS TO THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE. SO COME AND EXPERIENCE THIS SPECIAL PLACE WITH US FROM OCTOBER 2022!
This adventurous package require a level of fitness and willpower due to the rough nature of the off-trail hike to the top of the gorge and the descent of the kloof back to base camp. You and your group will have the option to choose if you want to do a one day or two day descent… an extra night under the stars is always good for the soul. There are various packages available to suit the days you have available… may it be over the weekend or during the week. You will not be disappointed. You might even see the elusive Cape Leopard.
Where: Haarwegskloof (Private Property), Moutonshoek (about 185km from Cape Town)

Duration: 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days (recommended) or custom requests. Due to the nature of kloofing/canyoning, we adjust some of the packages to our clients’ needs.
Prices: Will start from R3250.00 per person for the 2 night/3day package and from R3750.00 per person for the 3 night/4 day package.
Group size: min 3 people – max 6 people.
The pricing includes: permits for the farm, kloofing and camping. A stocked gazebo will be available at base camp with cutlery, plates. cooler boxes, snacks, coffee, tea and more. For the basic package the first night’s dinner will be a ‘Bring and Braai.’ Breakfast before the hike up, dinner on the fire on last night is on us and breakfast on the last morning before departure. You guys get the drift (Depending on package).
Also included: all kloofing and safety gear. Hiking gas plus cooker top. A billy can and mug for cooking and hot drinks. Clients will cook in pairs in the kloof.
Due to all the different diets these days and to save our clients money, we find that clients prefer to buy their own hiking and kloofing or canyoning food. Rather shop for what you like than paying for something you don’t. Yummy styles are the way to go!
Activities: Kloofing/canyoneering instruction, rope-work lessons, abseil instruction, safety on steep ground. Catered base camp kitchen. Off-trail hiking, sleeping under the stars, kloofing, waterfall abseiling, bum-slides, scrambling, swimming and much more! Cannot ruin all the surprises!!
Facilities at base camp: Ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. Rock-pools a mere 10m from your tent to enjoy a cold beverage in. Campsite is covered with old wild olive trees for shade
Below is an outline for the 3night and 4day package:
Day1: Meet around 8am/8:30am at Super Spar in Piketberg. Perfect for last minute shopping. Arrive at venue around 11am. Quick meet and greet and briefing about rules of the farm and the camping area. Settle into campsite and pitch tents. Clients are free to explore the rock pools, have a swim. After lunch we do instruction, gear check and issuing of equipment. Dinner will be cooked on the fire.
Day2: After sunrise and breakfast, final gear check and we head out on the off-trail hike to the overnight spot at the top bend of the gorge. Due to the high summer temperatures in Moutonshoek, we will start the hike early in the cooler temperatures. During the fantastic Autumn weather we will start a bit later. Arrival at the overnight spot is around 2pm to 4pm at the latest. Clients setup their sleeping areas (bivvie under the stars – no tents). Clients can swim, explore and relax. You will cook your dinner on gas with something sweet to go with the coffee or tea.
Day3: Breakfast at sunrise and we start the descent with an abseil (1 of 12) into the gorge when the sun is warm enough. Lunch will be snacks in the gorge. Depending on group size and experience, we arrive back at base camp any time between 4pm – 7pm. Clients can relax with drinks while we cook up a storm on the fire. This is always a fun evening when everyone shares their personal challenges of the gorge around the fire after a few beverages.
Day 4: Slow wake up with a yummy breakfast. Everyone can get up at their own pace. Departure time around 11am
Please Note:
This packages are not fully catered. For base camp, you will need a tent, a pillow, self-inflatable mattress and sleeping bag.
An info package will be emailed to clients regarding what they will need for the hike and the kloofing/canyoneering part of the trip.
Outside of the base camp, Pebble Sky supplies all you kloofing/canyoneering safety gear and wetsuits, dry-bags etc. It includes your hiking gas plus cooker top and billy cans for cooking.

Mostly these days with all the specific diets, we find that clients prefer to shop and bring their own hiking and kloofing food. We supply dinners at the base camp for the fire with basics like coffee, tea, cold drinks, juice and various snacks.
